Trump Accusing Obama of Having Spies Again
PRESIDENT Trump again accused Barack Obama of "spying" on him as the ex-President blasted his "reality show" presidency in his scathing Democratic National Convention speech.
Trump angrily slammed Obama on Twitter, as the former president spoke at the DNC in support of his former VP, Joe Biden, on Wednesday night.

"HE SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, AND GOT CAUGHT!" Trump tweeted.
Trump's tweet paralleled claims he previously made, alleging Obama was part of a plan to undermine his presidency.
"WHY DID HE REFUSE TO ENDORSE SLOW JOE UNTIL IT WAS ALL OVER, AND EVEN THEN WAS VERY LATE? WHY DID HE TRY TO GET HIM NOT TO RUN?" Trump tweeted of Obama's support for Biden.
Trump then tweeted a clip from earlier Wednesday evening when he called Obama "an ineffective president" during a White House press conference.
"BUT DIDN'T SHE CALL HIM A RACIST??? DIDN'T SHE SAY HE WAS INCOMPETENT???" Trump then tweeted, referring to Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris.
"I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies," Obama said in his DNC speech.
"I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.
"But he never did," Obama added.
He claimed that Trump has "shown no interest in putting in the work," "finding common ground," or trying to "help anyone but himself," or "in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves."
He continued, adding that Trump and those in power are "counting on" voter cynicism.
"They know they can't win you over with their policies so they're hoping to make it as hard as possible for you to vote," Obama said. "That is how they win."
He urged Americans: "Do not let them take away your power. Do not let them take away your democracy."
"This administration has shown it will tear our democracy down if that's what it takes to win," Obama added.
Obama backed Biden and Harris, saying his former VP shows "respect and dignity," and "empathy" to everyone he meets.
"Joe and Kamala will restore our standing in the world -- and as we've learned from this pandemic, that matters," Obama said.
"Joe knows the world, and the world knows him. He knows that our true strength comes from setting an example the world wants to follow.
"A nation that stands with democracy, not dictators. A nation that can inspire and mobilize others to overcome threats like climate change, terrorism, poverty, and disease," Obama added.
A spokesperson for Obama said ahead of the DNC that he plans to "talk about watching Joe's success firsthand in helping to lead America out of a dire recession and jump-start our economy, expand healthcare for tens of millions of Americans, and restore our standing in the world," according to CBS.
The former president was also expected to stress the importance of casting a ballot in the 2020 election, according to the spokesperson,.
He was expected to "highlight the cynical moves by the current administration and the Republican Party to discourage Americans from voting."
"He'll make a pointed case that democracy itself is on the line - along with the chance to create a better version of it," the spokesperson said.
"And finally, he'll echo his call to all Americans who believe in a more generous, more just nation: that this election is too important to sit out, and if everyone shows up, votes early, and makes sure their friends and family do the same, we can get back to work building a better, fairer America."
The comments are similar to those Obama made at the funeral of Rep John Lewis last month, where he ripped tactics used to suppress voters and urged Americans to honor the late Congressman and Civil Rights icon by exercising their right to vote.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also spoke in support of Biden on Wednesday.
Harris also gave a speech as she accepted the Democratic nomination for Vice President.
"My mother taught me that service to others gives life purpose and meaning," Harris said.
"She probably could have never imagined that I would be standing before you and speaking these words: I accept your nomination for vice president of the United States of America."
Harris made history as the first Black and the first South Asian woman to be nominated for a major political party's presidential ticket.
Obama's wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, also stressed the importance of overcoming obstacles - given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic - to vote in the 2020 election during her own DNC speech on Monday.
"We have got to vote like we did in 2008 and 2012," Obama said during her pre-taped address for the convention, while also rocking a stylish "VOTE" necklace.
"We've got to show up with the same level of passion and hope for Joe Biden. We've got to vote early, in person if we can."
"We've got to request our mail-in ballots right now, tonight, and send them back immediately and follow-up to make sure they're received. And then, make sure our friends and families do the same," she said.
Obama also spent a portion of her speech ripping Trump, saying he was "in over his head" with the presidency, and he's proven over the past four years that he is not qualified for the job.
